Born and raised in Oklahoma City, Josh Okpara is a hip-hop choreographer, creative director, performer, and dance educator with extensive experience in street and club styles including house, popping, locking, and breakdancing. His career has included choreographing for music artists and numerous productions for Race Dance Company, competing in World of Dance, auditioning for America’s Best Dance Crew, touring throughout Europe, and performing at SXSW. Josh also served as Director of Dance for Generation Why, where he helped grow Oklahoma’s hip-hop dance community by organizing the organization’s first dance event, WorldWhy Jam, which brought legendary hip-hop pioneers Buddha Stretch and Caleaf Sellers to Oklahoma. Passionate about arts education and mentorship, Josh has also served as a teaching artist for youth programs and summer camps at Oklahoma Contemporary, using dance to help students build confidence, creativity, and self-expression while continuing to inspire the next generation of dancers throughout Oklahoma and beyond.
